The Blues Academy welcome the New South Wales Country XV to Goldington Road on Sunday, Kick Off at 2.00 pm.

The New South Wales Country Rugby Union (NSWCRU) claim to be the largest Rugby province in the world and cover over 80% of the regional and rural areas of New South Wales outside the Sydney metropolitan district - over one hundred clubs with a Senior, Junior, Schools and Women player base of over thirty six thousand people.  The NW Country U18 XV are touring the UK and playing games against Glamorgan Wanderers and Oaklands College/Saracens as well as Bedford Blues Academy.

Bedford Blues new prop Tomas Gilardon Paz has landed in the UK, has already made himself at home at Goldington Road and is itching to get his Blues career underway.

Just hours after stepping off the plane from New York, the Argentinian international was in the club’s kit room to be measured up for his new attire.

Tomas, who stands at six feet one inch tall and tips the scales at 19 stone, moves to Bedford from Buenos Aries side San Isidros whose most famous player was Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara.

Bedford Blues are pleased to announce the signing of Argentina international prop Tomas Gilardon Paz.

The 24 year old, who stands at six feet one inch tall and tips the scales at 19 stone, has most recently been playing rugby San Isidros in Buenos Aries.

The prop, who studied at the Universidad del Salvador, picked up three caps for his country during the spring.

Movember is coming to an end and what better way to celebrate the month than by joining Bedford Blues for a party following the conclusion of the Greene King IPA Championship game against London Welsh.

And to ensure that as many Mo Bros as possible are at the game – the Blues are offering 2-for-1 entry to any gent sporting some splendid facial hair on the afternoon.

Having controlled the play for much of the game, poor Blues defence in the middle of the game allowed Oxford University to stay in touch.  After taking a half time lead of 19pts - 12, Bedford gave away two tries in the first ten minutes of the second half to give the students a 24pts - 19 lead.  The Blues changed their game plan in the last 20 minutes, kept the ball tight and attacked through their forwards to score the winning try and to close out the game for a 26pts - 24 win.
