10 years ago, on May 7th 2007, Courtney Lawes and Duncan Taylor played in the Bedford Blues Academy U19 side that beat Redruth, 30pts – 5, in the final of the National Colts Cup at Franklin’s Gardens

Today they line up against each other for Northampton Saints against Saracens in Round 20 of the Aviva Premiership at Stadium MK.

Duncan, now 27 yrs old, wins his 100th cap for Saracens, whilst Courtney, 28 yrs old, plays his 188th game for Saints.  Duncan has also gained 18 caps for Scotland, and Courtney 58 caps for England.

Blues Academy Development Squad players, Ryan Hutler, Dan Lewis, Jacob Turner and Charley Robinson, helped the Blues beat the British Army, in the annual Mobbs Memorial game at Goldington Road last night, by 55pts - 26.

Winger Ryan Hutler bagged a hat trick of tries, fly half Dan Lewis scored a try and three conversions, and flanker Jacob Turner and front row Charley Robinson, added to the Blues effort.

A belated congratulations to ex-Blues Academy Captain Ali Price, who won his first cap last Saturday in Scotland’s 43-16 win over Georgia.  Ali, whi has been on the bench for Scotland's last three games, came off the bench to replace the Scotland captain, Greg Laidlaw, at scrum half, and win his first cap.

Ex-Blues Academy Captain Ali Price, who has been named in the Scotland Squad, is poised to win his first full Scotland cap if he makes his debut off the bench against Argentina.  Price, has been named in the Scotland Squad to face Argentina at Murrayfield on Saturday Nov 19th. 

Ali was on the bench for Scotland last week in their narrow loss to Australia (23-22), but did not come off the bench to win his first cap.

Congratulations to ex-Blues Academy Captain Ali Price, who has been named in the Scotland Squad to face Australia at Murrayfield on Saturday Nov 12th.  Price will gain his first full Scotland cap if he makes his debut off the bench.

Price was born in Kings Lynn, attended Wisbech School, and joined the Blues Academy in 2010.  He was in the Blues team which won the National U19 Knock Out cup, scoring twice in the 38pts – 10 win over Redingensians in May 2011, and wining the Academy “Young Player of the Year” award.  He went on to captain the Blues Academy squad in 2011/12 season lifting the National U19 Knock Out cup in the 31pts - 15 win over Ivybridge in May 2012.
