Grant Hathaway – Backs/Skills Coach:

Grant will be joining the Academy Coaching team as one of the backs and skills coaches.

The Bedford Blues Academy needs a Team Manager to assist the Academy Director and Coaches in the running of the Blues Academy.

The Team Manger will take responsibility for much of the administration, and support, that is needed to make the Academy function effectively, and will work closely with the Academy Director, Coaches, and Physio team.

We are looking to strengthen our Academy coaching team for next season.  If you are a coach who wants to be part of what is probably the best non-RFU funded Academy in England ..... then we would like to hear from you.

The Blues Academy was set up to identify, recruit and develop professional players for the Bedford 1st XV of the future.  The Academy has a great record in producing players for the Blues 1st XV, with players such as Sacha Harding, Will Chudley, Chris Locke, Darryl Veenendaal, Duncan Taylor, Josh Bassett and most recently Aaron Morris coming through the Academy to the Blues 1st XV.

Congratulations to Blues Academy fly half, Dan Lewis, who has been selected for the England U18 Clubs & Schools XV.

Lewis, who is studying for his "A" levels at St. Joseph's College Ipswich, has been selected after captaining the London & S.E. The Blues Academy beat the Saracens Academy, at Allianz Park, on a misty winter evening by 19pts – 15.  At 10pts - 0 down after 10 minutes it looked like a tough evening ahead for the Blues, however with a tough physical performance from the Bedford forwards, they fought back to be 10pts - 7 down at half time, and went on to a well deserved win by 19pts – 15 against the RFU funded Saracens Academy, coached by Don Barrell and Ian Vass.
