No comment on that one. I hope he's as unfit as he was when at the Blues. _________________ It's Jonathan really, dodgy keyboard when I registered |

Notice he's starting on the bench. Saves time I suppose, it's always where he ends up. |

| Great shame that we don't seem to be able to have Ben Ransom in our hour of need. To be honest, I was starting to feel a bit negative about the whole DR system and wondering what we got from it until I remembered that we have had Luke Baldwin all season. I think we all have to admit that this year's list of DRs was, frankly, a bit ridiculous: Mako Vunipola, James Short, Jackson Wray, George Kruis, Will Fraser, Duncan Taylor, Luke Baldwin, Ben Ransom, Sam Stanley and Scott Spurling . How many of these were we ever likely to see? About half have been playing very regularly for the Sarries first team and one for England! Scott Spurling was probably just about the right kind of player to have on the list and it is a shame that injuries have stood in the way of us seeing him more. Ben Ransom was also a good inclusion and I can't really quibble if his obvious great talent has been recognised by Sarries during the season, but Mako and the others at the beginning of my list? Really? |

Luke Baldwin isn't actually a dual registered player. He is on a year long loan.
See the following from the Club News at the start of the season "Over the past week, the two clubs have been in discussions to put a plan into place which will see nine Saracens youngsters being dual registered with the Blues while scrum half Luke Baldwin will join Bedford on a season long loan following the Premiership sides pre-season campaign." |

According to the BBC website, Three Counties and BBC Newcastle running commentary on tonights game.
After last week's loss, it is going to be a tough call for Bedford. It is a pity that some of the DR players aren't available, not because the squad haven't performed well in their absence, but because the introduction of different players offers a new dynamic to the game. We play an attacking form of rugby and other teams have twigged how to nullify that type of play - evidence Bristol at the weekend.
I hope we show a little variety tonight. One of our most promising moves against Bristol was when Veenandal chipped over the on-coming defence. It wasn't successful but another couple of similar moves might make defences think twice before moving forward allowing time for us to move the ball and create the space. We have to find a way to make defences hesitate so that Atkinson, Dodge, Stephenson, Bassett et al can do their jobs. _________________ A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet (Will Rogers)

So we went up to Newcastle missing some key players with injuries and lost by two points. Appreciate the circumstances are hard to take but if that was in the playoffs, i'd be ecstatic and would feel hopeful going into a home leg.
Well done Blues |
