There seems to be a number of people, (me included) who would like some protection from the elements and a view the action such as tries in the corner that we simply do not get to see on the marquee side of the ground.
There are counter arguments (that I also agree with) that we simply do not have the money to pay for it. We can all see in the misfortune at other clubs that spending what you do not have is a flawed concept.
The answer - could we the supporters pay towards construction a sheltered and raised standing area? Maybe the followers as a trusted source could set up a campaign fund. Surely over a season or two with some creative efforts at fundraising we could do it. Going round with a bucket every time it is raining would help.

| You missed out " I couldn't be arsed" and if I went what would I have to gripe about for the rest of the week. |

Stephen - Not a bad suggestion. Maybe the club could apply the little grey cells to this? _________________ Adeste fideles |

This subject has been debated many times before and continues to be a topic of conversation in the bars after many games. I'm not a builder but the club has, until recently, had 2 major building companies amongst it's sponsors / directors, so I can only assume that the costs involved greatly outweigh the perceived increase in income / customer satisfaction.
Our post game discussions on Saturday concluded that basic facilities have actually declined over recent years and need to be addressed - the big question is how? |

Improved facilities is a perennial topic.
Now that the marquee is firmly established (no pun intended) and producing an increasing income stream and the improvements at the scoreboard end have been finished, perhaps now is the time for the club to devote more energy to this subject.
With our finances not yet breaking even and relying on Geoff's continued support, it doesn't seem feasible for the club to fund this in isolation.
Maybe an item for discussion at the AGM?

| Agreed Caxton - the followers newsletter circulated last Saturday gave a clear insight into the finances of not only us but the Championship Clubs - I think it was saying that even with gates of 3K we are still not breaking even, and with the examples of several clubs to go on, we should not spend money we haven't got. |

| I would certainly put a couple of quid in a bucket each week. Also how about selling umbrella's say at £7.50, cost has to be for a 1000 £2.50. And put the profits into the fund. I am sure over 3 seasons 30-40k could be raised. Which should cover some shelter?! |

Is it possible that another reason for the poor attendance against Nottingham was the fact that there were people still coming into the ground at 3.15 on Boxing Day? I wonder how many of these will not return?
It seemed that many of these were in the queue trying to collect pre arranged tickets. Surely we need to look at the speed these tickets are handed out when we expect a large croud. I'm sure this can be accessed by the amount of pre paid tickets that have been sold
Also after these tickets have been handed out can the main gate not be opened when it is close to kick off? This would allow anyone with a ticket into theground and to make sure they see the start. I am sure this was the case in previous years
Come on Administration think about it |

| glenm, we could probaly get the brollies cheaper if we bought them at the same time as we buy the ones for the Goldington Road queue. |

And even cheaper if a sponsors logo was printed on them.
How about 'Drench?'
(Disclaimer: Other brands are available at equally extortionate prices) |

I posted this on the other recent posting about viewing and covered terrace!
Does anyone actually know how much this would cost to erect and maintain as so far all we have had is people talk!
If you want it so much, get of your arse, put together a plan for fund raising and take it to the club and stop moaning.
Please it is getting so repetitive! |
