| Great to see a quite a little collection of Academy players named for the Mobbs match. I was thinking that I would probably come anyway but definitely will now in the hope that we will get to see to see how some future Blues shape up.They are all very talented players and could go far. Not quite sure, but I think that Aaron Morris, who starts at full back may still be only 17. |

Although they won't be wearing Black and White this is almost like a Barbarians side--- great to see such a mix-- really looking forward to the game--- hope the weather doesn't put people off this looks like an exciting team...
Jack Wilson the wing from Bay of Plenty who is on loan at Sarries should be quality being the son of the famous Brett Wilson of the All Blacks..
In December Beds on Sunday suggested we might have Sam Stanley on loan till the end of the season so a chance to see what we are missing as that obviously hasn't happened - would have been useful given Henry's long lay off and now with Pritch out....
Ollie Marchon is the Englands 7s wing that Shanners has got at OA's I think _ I am sure someone on HYS will correct me if I have got that one wrong)...
The one that really puzzles me is Carrick-Smith as the latest was that he was on loan from Exeter at Plywood???? Bit of a way to travel for a friendly in a Bedford shirt however worthy the cause - can we read anything in that ...
Nate Brakely has just played his last game for Cambridge Uni so possible trialist ??? ... and not far from the Uni down at Granchester Rd - Tom Fiddler has been the one bright light at prop in Cambridge's season to forget
Dave Shotton from Tring makes up the guest forward replacements on the bench alongside someone called Andy Saul
Great to see Joe Tarrant given a shot - fly half who had an excellent game for the academy in beating England at the weekend..... |

| Jarred Saunders-- know he was at Sarries and had a season long injuryt a while back and dropped off the radar-- just seen his name was on the team sheet for Roth in that close finish they had with the Falcons a couple of weeks ago -- is he on loan ??? |

Regrettably, I won't be back from London in time for the match tonight. It shapes up to be agreat evening of rugby so encourage everyone who can to go and watch more potential Bedford stars being born. _________________ A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet (Will Rogers)

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr & Mrs Irvine in Newcastle last weekend and Geoff mentioned that a certain Saracens back row, Jacques Burger would be returning from a season long injury to play in the Mobbs match along with Andy Saul.
Looks like it will be a cracking game.

| Great game, well worth a tenner. Army sort their lineout could have been much closer. |

The first game ended East Midlands 28 The Army 'A' 8.
The second game ended Bedford 43 The Army 29.
There was certainly 2 great players who will probably be playing for Saracens next year. Andy Saul and Jacques Burger. |

I really enjoyed the match last night, it was bitterly cold with some of the early evening snow on the pitch. For me there were several outstanding players including the hatrick scoring 14 from the Army. On our side the giant and highly mobile Will Carrick-smith at 5 was wonderful all over the pitch. At 14 Jack Wilson looked very powerful and quick, Aaron Morris showed some great promise, he is certainly one for the future.
Can we please have a military band every week, they were wonderful.
Cheers everyone, come on you Blues.

Both games were really good, considering a lot of the players in the Bedford side probably only met in the changing room. I was also impressed with Carrick-Smith and Sam Stanley, would have liked to see Jack Wilson get into the game a bit more, looks a really powerfull wing.
Both games well worth the tenner, if it did take me ages to de-thaw afterwards. _________________ I want you all to sort yourselves alphabetically by height, pair up in 3's and line up in a circle. |

Nice though Stephen, you seen the accounts for the current year? Nice dreams, don't think they would be affordable though. _________________ Devon Lady |
