A number of ladies from the Bedford Blues Followers are taking part in the Race For Life in Bedford this coming Sunday, July 25th in memory of Nigel Roberts - a friend to many of us at the Blues and also a valued member of the Followers Committee.

All of those who knew Nigel would greatly appreciate donations in his memory to any of those taking part (Jane Roberts, Margaret Appleton, Jackie Markam, etc).

Jackie's sponsor page can be found by following the link below:

http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/jackiemarkham

Many people will have either suffered from cancer or know someone who has. However, survival rates continue to improve and it's through research (that gets a significant part of it's funds from donations like this) that the work continues.

Please donate whatever you can to this worthy cause. No matter how large or small the donation, they all count.

Thanks Phil.

Although it is my name on here I know that as well as Jane, Margaret and me, Lesley Cornish, Amanda Saxton and Jo Woolley (nee Appleton) will be taking part from The Followers. You can just change the /name to sponsor someone else. If you'd rather give a cash donation it can be left with Ronnie at the club for our attention. Please let us have your address and postcode as we'd like to claim the Gift Aid on your behalf.

If anyone else is registered and would like to walk - not run - with us meet us at the car park on the corner of Kimbolton/Goldington Roads at 10am.

Last year we raised more than £2000 between us and we'd like to get somewhere close to that this year.

The ladies from The Followers (Amanda, Margaret, Jane, Lesley, Tegan, Jette and Jackie) completed the 5k in just under an hour. We spotted several familiar faces along the route, all of whom had sponsored people taking part.

We would like to thank all who sponsored us and we'll let you know our total once we have done our sums! If you forgot you can still contribute via the website or at the club. We will continue to take donations until September.

Congratulations Ladies.. I also saw a few familiar faces whilst taking part. Great to see so many people out to support such a great cause.

Many thanks to those who helped us to raise £1100 for our Race for Life. That total will be increased thanks to Gift Aid.
If you missed out then you can give a donation at the Followers' office on Friday evening!

Well done to all of you.
I was so sorry I was unable to take part this year, but hope the knees will relent and let me take part again next year.
That was a fantastic total you raised!
Lil' Kirsty did well too, eh?
x

Thanks Sue..

I didn't manage to raise as much sponsorship as The Ladies, but did manage to set myself a record to beat, after running around the course in 36 minutes.. a personal best!!
