The Blues return home this Saturday for the biggest match of the season so far against a Cornish Pirates side brimming with confidence - but with a play-off spot still within Bedford’s grasp the boys need the support of a strong 16th man (kick off 3pm).

In the reverse fixture, Pirates broke Bedford hearts with a last minute winning try and conversion at a boggy Mennaye Field to seal a 32-31 home victory leaving the Blues intent on levelling this season’s outings against Ian Davies’ men.

Meetings between the two sides have always been entertaining affairs with both sides looking to play a good brand of rugby and this Saturday is set to be no different. But with Jersey breathing down the neck of fourth spot, Mike Rayer’s men will be focused on the task at hand.

Off the field hospitality in the Blues Marquee is again fully sold out so please book early for future matches. Supporters can still dine pre-match in Nos’s Nosh or at one of the catering outlets around the ground.

If you’d prefer a pre-game tipple, pick up a programme and head to one of the bars – our choice would be the Eagle Bar to sample one of this week’s Guest Ale; St Austell Brewery’s Tribute in honour of our Cornish guests.

Prior to kick of Shelton Lower, Greenfield and Pulloxhill Academies will perform the SSG Services Guard of Honour, let’s give them a loud cheer as the teams run out on to the pitch. The Bedford Bear, fresh from his pitchside activities and player control at Headingley on Sunday, will be warming up the crowd for the big game.

After the match head to the Blues Marquee for the Anglian Fasteners’ Man of the Match presentation, mix with players and enjoy live music from the returning house musician Mark Calder as the post-match party starts,

Don’t forget to grab yourself a bargain in the big match day Club Shop sale with another great offer as Blues hoodies, both full zip and pullover, are reduced by 10% for all supporters – with Season Ticket holders receiving a further 10% off, that’s an amazing 20% discount.

Supporters may also note the Club flag will fly at half-mast this Saturday as a mark of respect for the late former Blues giant, Stormin Norm Hadley who passed away at the weekend.

Gates open at 12 noon, arrive early to avoid the queues, tickets are available online with a £2.00 discount at
