MOVEMBER COMES TO GOLDINGTON ROAD
Movember is coming to an end and what better way to celebrate the month than by joining Bedford Blues for a party following the conclusion of the Greene King IPA Championship game against London Welsh.
And to ensure that as many Mo Bros as possible are at the game – the Blues are offering 2-for-1 entry to any gent sporting some splendid facial hair on the afternoon.
There will be a host of Movember relating events taking place throughout the day including a talk from Movember Ambassador Ben Bowers who has battled testicular cancer twice, winning the fight on each occasion. Ben has inspired men across the UK to check themselves to find any lumps or irregularities early and reduce the chance cancer.
The Movember team will be on the lookout for the best Mos before and during the game with candidates being invited into the Blues marquee after the game for a Best Mo Award. Mo of the Match and Man of the Match prizes will also be awarded and there will also be an auction to win an experience of a lifetime with Sky Sports.
The Mo has quickly become the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK and a quarter of all new cases of cancer diagnosed in men are prostate cancers. Over the last 30 years prostate cancer rates in Great Britain have almost tripled, although much of the increase is due to increased detection through widespread use of the PSA test.
