MATCH PREVIEW V LONDON IRISH

While 2016 has been a mixed year for the Blues, they will be hoping to finish with a flurry as they head to Reading to take on London Irish on New Year's Eve.

When the two teams met back in September, the Blues gave a great account of themselves but fell just short as they went down 23-30 to the former Premiership side.

Confidence in the Bedford camp was given an extra boost following their last gasp 39-37 victory against Jersey Reds on Boxing Day. The Blues scored two late tries with a final conversion sealing a win that had looked out of reach with two minutes left on the clock.

The Blues make six changes to the team that fought back to beat Jersey Reds after Paul Tupai and Jordan Burns were both ruled out with injury while the yellow card picked up by Josh Buggea means that he also misses the fixture. Tom James and Jake Sharp come in to form the half back pairing while Jack Culverhouse and Dan George start in the front row with Ben Adams and Jason Hill returning to the back row.
