MATCH PREVIEW V HARTPURY

Bedford Blues return to home soil this weekend for another huge challenge in the Greene King IPA Championship against Hartpury College.

The Blues head into the game off the back of three wins over Yorkshire Carnegie, Doncaster Knights and Cornish Pirates, who they defeated 29-30 at Mennaye Field on Sunday.

But Beford know that they certainly won't have everything their own way this weekend as the visitors gave the Blues two epic games last season and have started this campaign in fine form picking up some impressive victories along the way.

Looking ahead to the game, Blues Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: “There is one thing for certain after the last few weeks and that is we are definitely battle hardened. Physically, the last two games have been right up there, so to come out with wins is great testimony to the resilience of this group of players.

“Hartpury have had a tough few weeks, but they have shown at times this season that they are a really good team who are more than capable of turning anyone over on their day. Wins are tough to come by this season so you've definitely got to make sure you bring the right attitude week on week.”

Bedford make a handful of changes to the team which defeated Cornish Pirates last weekend. Ed Coulson comes in at 13 for Jamie Elliot who has agreed a move away from the club, while Lee Dickson returns to captain the squad from scrum half. Ben Cooper starts in the front row while Huw Worthington moves to blindside flanker and Jarad Williams come in at number eight.
