MATCH PREVIEW V EALING TRAILFINDERS

Bedford Blues take to the road again this weekend as they head to west London to face Ealing Trailfinders in Round 8 of the Greene King IPA Championship.

Bedford will be in high spirits having overcome Rotherham 46-28 under the Friday Night Lights at Goldington Road, but the Blues know that Ealing will be no pushovers on their home (astro)turf.

Looking ahead to the game, Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: “We were really pleased with the first 50 minutes of our performance last Friday as we attacked with real intensity and pace. However for the rest of the game we lost our way. A combination of poor discipline and game management meant we conceded far too many points on our own piece of grass. We’ve had a long hard look at this in training and need to fix it.

"Ealing are a very dangerous side and could have won several of their games this season, league positions count for nothing in the Championship, it’s how you prepare and perform on the day that really counts and we know it’s going to be a huge challenge on Saturday."

Bedford make just one enforced change to the team that beat Rotherham last Friday with Camilo Parilli-Ocampo starting at tighthead in place of James Currie who suffered an ankle injury in the first half against the Titans.
