MATCH PREVIEW V CORNISH PIRATES

Bedford Blues have named their 22-man squad which will take on the Cornish Pirates at the Mennaye Field on Sunday afternoon in the Greene King IPA Championship.

This weekend's game will be the first of three clashes between the two sides before Christmas as they prepare to face off in league and cup competitions.

The Blues versus the Pirates is rarely a dull affair, and much will be expected when third meet fourth in Penzance.

Looking ahead to the game, Blues Backs Coach Paul Larkin said: "The Pirates have got off to a fantastic start in the league and the Mennaye is never an easy ground to visit and an even harder place to leave with points, but we are looking forward to the challenge."

Bedford make a number of changes to the team that beat Doncaster Knights last weekend with Ryan Hutler and James Lennon starting in the backs while Jacob Fields, Alex Penny, Will Carrick-Smith and Huw Worthington all come into the pack. Mark Flanagan will captain the team against the Cornish Pirates while Jack Nay returns to the bench alongside Saracens scrum half Alex Gliksten.
