After almost a three week spell away from Goldington Road, Bedford Blues return home this Saturday 3rd October for only their second home Championship fixture of the season against the Green and Whites of Nottingham (Kick Off 3pm).

Following a strong start to the season, only narrowly missing out on the road to both of the capital’s Exiles, spirits in the squad remain high with the players looking forward to a noisy welcome against a side featuring three very recent former Blues having moved to Lady Bay this summer from Bedford.

Darryl Veenendaal, Viliami Hakalo and TJ Harris are all welcomed back in quick time as the Blues focus on rectifying the two poor results against Martin Haag’s men last season having fell agonisingly short on the last day of the season back in April.

Nottingham, buoyed by a bonus point win over Moseley last time out, will arrive in town searching consecutive wins, but Mike Rayer’s troops will be on a revenge mission to make sure that fortress Goldington remains strong.

As well as a feast of top class rugby on the pitch, there will be plenty to watch in the bars with coverage continuing of the Rugby World Cup. Each bar around the ground will screen the big games with Samoa v Japan at 14:30, followed by South Africa v Scotland on the final whistle at 16:45 and then the big one; England v Australia in the marquee at 20:00. With extra televisions in the Blues Marquee why not stick around and enjoy Happy Hour beer prices from 19:00 for the rest of the night (all welcome).
