Bedford Blues have completed their first block of pre-season training by being put through their paces at Fitness First in Aspects Leisure Park.
The squad headed to the state of the art gym last week and made full use of the facilities - as well as the car park!
Under the watchful eye of Strength and Conditioning Coach Andrew Petts, the players once again accustomed themselves with the dreaded Wattbike, as well as undertaking a series of workouts in the gym as well as shoving weights in the car park.
Speaking about the session, Andrew Petts said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank the staff and patrons of Fitness First who invited us to the gym and made us feel really welcome. It is a wonderful facility that offered the lads the chance to try out a few new things as well as some tried and tested favourites.
“I’ve been really impressed with the commitment shown by all of the squad since they returned for pre-season last month and everyone is pulling out all of the stops to ensure that they are in peak fitness. It’s been a great start to the pre-season and long may it continue.”
Blues Director of Rugby Mike Rayer added: “This block has mainly been about conditioning and the players getting to know each other and I have to say that the work rate and competiveness has been outstanding.  The lads are enjoying a week off now and will be raring to get into it next week when we get stuck into more of the rugby aspects.”
