It’s nearly here, the big bumper New Year’s Day clash against London Scottish at Goldington Road in front of the Sky Sports cameras! Preparations are taking shape, logistics being put in place, on and off-field entertainment scheduled and lots of tickets are still available online and at the gate to help make this Friday another great occasion.

Following fantastic form on the pitch this season, capped by two great festive victories to date against Bristol at home and Moseley away on Boxing Day, online advance discount tickets are selling well, but will close the morning of Thursday 31 December. There are plenty of tickets available on the match day gate for those who don’t manage to buy before the online date.

The Bushmead Gate entrance will also be open for ticket only admission (no cash sales), whilst collections will be at the usual ticket office window.

All bars and facilities are in operation as we hope to showcase Goldington Road and a strong Blues attendance under the TV spotlight as Mike Rayer’s men aim to cement their current fourth placed play-off spot against a strong Exiles team challenging to regain their top four finish from last season.

Why not arrive early, pick up a special NYD programme at the gate and enjoy a pint in one of the bars, of particular interest will be the upstairs Eagle Bar which will again carry a couple of Guest Ales; Wells’ A Good Stuffing and Glamorgan Brewing West Coast Red.

Alternatively why not book a last minute hospitality seat in the Blues Marquee for our NYD buffet menu for just £15.00 per person, excluding ground ticket. A choice of chicken curry or beef chilli is available with a luxurious Wodehill Cheeseboard to finish. Call the Club on 0871 871 1886 or email sophie@bedfordrugby.co.uk before 12 noon Wednesday to book in.

Just prior to kick off a selected party of junior rugby players from sponsors’ SSG Services will form the Guard of Honour, give them and the Bedford Bear a loud cheer as the teams run out this Friday!

At half-time there will be a notable cheque presentation to Cancer Research UK following a very successful Ladies Day 2015 having raised £5,000.

The Club hope supporters will once again stick around after the match to join the New Year’s celebrations as musician Mark Calder again plays live music into the evening to continue the party atmosphere in the Blues Marquee.

Scottish fans are welcome also as we relight the rivalry between the two clubs in the home encounter with the capital based side. Kick-off is ever so slightly later at 3:05pm on Friday 1 January with gates opening at 12 noon so arrive in good time.

It is hoped the whole town will come out to support the Club on NYD and that families and friends alike can unite behind the team and show how important this Club is to the community by putting Bedford on the national map.

Please note; Season Ticket holders will not be able to use their guest pass in the Stand with limited availability now left, guest passes are able to be used for Ground Entry however.
