BLUES RETURN HOME THIS WEEKEND AGAINST EALING

The Blues return home this Saturday after a month away against fourth placed Ealing Trailfinders at Goldington Road (KO 3pm).

Mike Rayer’s men will be looking to continue their short-term momentum following a fantastic win over Rotherham Titans last time out, but are expecting a tough battle against the side from the capital who have already toppled the Blues twice this season.

Ealing have surprised many this campaign, but are fully deserving of their current top four position having recruited well over the last two seasons and added big names to their play-off chasing squad. Fresh off the back of two narrow victories over fellow promotion hopefuls Doncaster Knights and local rivals Richmond, Ben Ward’s side will arrive in town confident of extending their winning charge.

Trailfinders last defeat was a single point loss to top of the table London Irish and with Alex Codling as Head Coach are sure to have done their homework on a Blues’ outfit looking to climb further up the league ranking and build on last week’s performance.

Bedford’s first win of 2017 came in scintillating style with Rayer’s familiar brand of running rugby proving too much for their Yorkshire counterparts, enabled by a solid set piece which gave the Blues’ backs a perfect platform to launch from. The challenge this week is to follow that up in front of the home faithful. Click here to buy tickets now.

Off the pitch, there's plenty to enjoy before and after the whistle. The club urge supporters to pick up a match programme; featuring Coach insights, opposition reviews, player profiles, Head to Head interviews, a look back to former players and much, much more.

Then warm up ahead of kick off in the Eagle Bar with this week’s Guest Ale; Wells’ Firsty 15 or choose your favourite tipple at any of the watering holes around the ground and discuss this week’s rugby news.

Marquee hospitality is again sold out and we look forward to welcoming all our guests, including a host of farmers, for a brilliant day in the Blues Marquee, if you’ve missed out, why not head to Nos’s Nosh for pre-match grub and an inside scoop!

As the on-field action approaches please give both sets of players, the Bedford Bear and this week’s SSG Guard of Honour from Bedford Junior Blues Under 8s a loud cheer.

During and post-game we will be screening the Six Nations matches including Scotland v Wales and Ireland v France in the Blues Marquee. A special Happy Hour will take place between 6pm and 7pm with all draught beers reduced to £3 (except Estrella).
