BLUES RETURN HOME THIS FRIDAY UNDER THE LIGHTS

The Blues return home this Friday night under the lights as they welcome London Scottish to Goldington Road in another pivotal Championship encounter (KO 19:45).

Buoyed by last weekend’s bonus point victory over fellow Exiles, London Welsh, Mike Rayer’s men will be looking for another improved performance against Peter Richard’s side, who will be hurting from their previous outing in a defeat to close rivals Richmond.

Scottish, similarly to Bedford, have endured a mixed start to the season with wins over Rotherham, Jersey and Pirates, plus a great start to the British & Irish Cup campaign with two victories from two. But losses to Nottingham, Welsh, Yorkshire, Irish and Doncaster, along with last weekend’s result leave them 11th in the table but only two points behind the Blues.

Following Bedford’s late victory at Old Deer Park they may have risen up the table, but the playing group certainly have plenty to work on ahead of another difficult task, yet with only four points separating them from the play-off positions there is plenty to play for. A strong 16th man will be the help they require this Friday night!

Away from the pitch, there’s also lots to keep you entertained, gates open from 5pm, pick up a programme and head to the Eagle Bar for a pint of this week’s guest ale and one of our favourites; Young’s Winter Warmer. Alternatively enjoy the pre-match build up in any of the bars around the ground including the Scrum Hall where you can grab a bite to eat with Nos’s Nosh.

As kick off approaches, this week’s SSG Guard of Honour from Bletchley Rugby Club Minis section will form the welcome tunnel with the Bedford Bear, let’s give them and the teams a loud cheer.

Post-match take in the live reaction of players and coaches upstairs in the Eagle Bar for the Michael R Peters Final Whistle before heading back to the Blues Marquee for live music. The Blues very own house musician Mark Calder will play late into the evening with the chance to mix with players and hopefully celebrate a Bedford win #COYB.

Don’t forget to visit the Club Shop before, half-time or after the match to check out the new leisurewear range and grab yourself a few stocking fillers for this Christmas. Show your Season Ticket for 10% discount.
