Friday night lights return to Goldington Road this Friday 9th February with an added Beer Festival in the Blues Marquee as Mike Rayer’s men prepare to face Jersey Reds (Kick Off 7:45pm).

Following narrow defeat against Bristol at Ashton Gate last time out, the Blues will be hoping to bounce straight back against the Islanders, who haven’t lost in the Championship since November but still lie two places and seven points behind Bedford.

The Blues will need the support of the 16th man to make Goldington Road a fortress this weekend and produce another enthralling performance to continue their fine form and keep in the hunt of the top of the table against a side chasing at their heels.

Many Blues players will be especially looking forward to the fixture under lights against their former club; club captain Michael Le Bourgeois, born and raised on the Island before graduating through their ranks and current Blues’ Player Coach Alex Rae who spent four seasons with Jersey, the latter of which as Forwards Coach. Also facing their previous team are new Blues; Sean McCarthey and Rich Lane. Two Jersey players who could be in the line-up are former Blues’ Jared Saunders and Seb Nagle-Taylor who both made brief appearances for the club in recent seasons.

If the most recent fixtures aren't enough to excite fans, can supporters remember the home clash with Jersey last season? The match on Boxing Day was without doubt the most exhilarating of the season, producing a last gasp 39-37 bonus point home win for the Blues in front of a 4,621 strong crowd. Can we match this under the lights? Save £4 and buy tickets online before the match day here.

Off the field, our Two-Day Beer Festival in the Blues Marquee is a star attraction with our widest range of ales available to date in collaboration with the Eagle Brewery and Marston’s. Read the full preview with all listed guest ales and details for both Friday and Six Nations Saturday by clicking here.

The beer will be flowing late into the night proving a great atmosphere when coupled with our returning DJ set playing all our fan favourites following the final whistle, so make Goldington Road your destination this Friday night for an evening of packed entertainment.

Hospitality is again fully booked, pop in to Nos’s Nosh or any of the ground outlets for a bite to eat to warm you up on a cold winter’s evening and save making tea for the family.

As the teams run out, please give a loud cheer to both sets of players and this week’s SSG Guard of Honour from Ampthill Rugby Club Under 8s along with the Bedford Bear.

The Club hope supporters will once again stick around after the match in the marquee, but for a quieter review of the match and to enjoy expert analysis, head up to the Eagle Bar for live reaction from players and coaches in the Michael R Peters Final Whistle.

The Club Shop will be open an hour before, half-time or after the match so pop in to wear your colours as the season heads towards its climax. Show your Season Ticket for 10% discount.
