Bedford Blues return home this weekend for a titanic battle against Nottingham in a must-win match with a British & Irish Cup Quarter Final spot at stake. Kick off is at the earlier time of 2pm so arrive early to avoid disappointment and become the Blues 16th man.

A win could cement a home knockout Cup tie which makes the match one of the most important this season following the excellent performances Mike Rayer’s men have delivered in Group A to lead the Pool ahead of reigning champions Munster.

As it stands; Ealing Trailfinders, Jersey and Leinster have already qualified for a home leg in the next round with five wins from five. The Blues, currently level on 19 points with Ulster, are in a straight shootout for that last remaining home fixture with the Northern Irishmen who travel to West Wales to face Scarlets, also kicking off at 2pm.

Knocking at the door of qualification behind Bedford are Munster, Doncaster Knights, Yorkshire Carnegie and Cornish Pirates so bring your friends, family and neighbours to Goldington Road this Saturday to cheer the Blues to victory and secure that coveted Cup spot.

And on the back of last week’s win over the Ospreys, Bedford are keen to continue a winning run in the first home match of 2018 versus the Green and Whites. Clashes against Nottingham are often closely fought affairs, so the Blues will be needing your support. Save £4 and buy tickets online before the match day here.

There’s plenty going on off the field this weekend too, pick up a match programme on entry to the ground and head up to one of the many bars around the ground. The preferred choice this week would be one of our Blues own; either a pint of Eagle IPA or Blues 1886 Lager in our oldest bar, the 1910 Scrum Hall.

The Blues Marquee and all hospitality is fully booked, but pop in to Nos’s Nosh or any of the ground outlets for a bite to eat to warm you up on a cold winter’s afternoon.

As the teams run out, please give a loud cheer to both sets of players and this week’s SSG Guard of Honour from Kings Oak and Great Denham Primary Schools, the winners of the Bedford & Kempston and North Bedfordshire School Sport Partnerships competition.

The Club hope supporters will once again stick around after the match as musician Mark Calder returns to get the party started, along with MC Sam Roberts to present the Anglian Fasteners Man of the Match in the Blues Marquee.

For those wanting to review the match and enjoy expert analysis, head up to the Eagle Bar for live reaction from players and coaches in the Michael R Peters Final Whistle.

If you missed something off your Christmas list, don’t panic, visit the Club Shop before, half-time or after the match. Show your Season Ticket for 10% discount.

Please note: This match IS included in your Season Ticket package and members can use their ‘Bring a Friend for Free’ voucher for a guest.
