ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

The Blues return home under the Friday night lights this weekend against recently promoted Hartpury RFC hoping to keep hold of their top four position (kick off 7:45pm).

The fixture doubles as the Club's first ever Community Schools Night with nearly 20 Bedfordshire schools represented and over 250 pupils. Blues Community department will deliver the club’s largest training session, the Guard of Honour and a pitch parade with SSG Services. If any schools would like to join up there is still space by emailing community@bedfordrugby.co.uk.

To add extra excitement to the build-up, the game will also be under the TV spotlight with the RFU cameras coming to Bedford to live stream the match online.

In the club’s first ever fixture against Hartpury, the Championship newcomers are still a somewhat unknown entity, but having impressed heavily already this season, Mike Rayer’s men will be in for a difficult encounter.

The West Country men have beaten London Scottish and Doncaster Knights in recent weeks with a draw against Yorkshire Carnegie and only losing to Richmond last weekend in the dying stages of the match.

The Blues have also been in good form and were unlucky to not claim a win at Castle Park against the Knights last time out, finishing 28-28. The last home match saw Rayer’s troops comfortably beat third placed Nottingham and they will need to secure a tough victory tonight to keep the pressure on the Green and Whites in the top four.

Goldington Road is the perfect place to start your weekend this Friday as the party gets underway from gates opening after 5pm. Pick up a programme and head to one of the many bars and settle into the friendly atmosphere with your favourite tipple, our choice this week would be either a pint of Eagle or Greene King IPA.

Also make time to visit the Club Shop which will be hosting a special Black and Blue Friday SALE, more details released on Friday morning.

Then settle into your seat or position ready for kick off with Sam Roberts back on the mic for one night only to whip up the atmosphere.

Post-game we’ve again got two choices for you; either head to the Blues Marquee for the Anglian Fasteners’ Man of the Match presentation and enjoy live music with the returning Mark Calder.

Alternatively, squeeze in both and pop upstairs to the Eagle Bar for the Michael R Peters Final Whistle instant match reaction from a player and coach.
