The Blues Academy U19 XV travel to Maidenhead Rugby Club on Friday night to take on Wasps Academy U18 XV (Kick Off 7.45 pm).

Bedford make six changes to their starting lineup (one positional) with hooker George Harris, prop Henry Peck, centre Harry Hutchins, and full back Max Titchener returning with Liam Shields moving to centre.  No. 8 Harry Peterkin (Oaklands College) makes his debut.

Hoping to make their debuts off the bench are St Columba's College hooker Tom Kelly and Wymondham winger Charlie Blower. The side will be captained by prop Charley Robinson.

Blues Academy Director, Denis Ormesher, said: “We had two very tight games against Wasps last season, with very narrow wins at home and away.  Games against one of the RFU funded Premiership Academies are always a great test for the Blues Academy and we are looking forward to facing Wasps again.  Wasps have had a great start to the season with wins against Llanelli Scarlets and Cardiff Blues and a 28pts – 12 win last week against Bath Academy at the Ricoh Stadium, and will be tough opponents.“

“We were slow to start again last week against Cambridge University, and our discipline in the first half was poor.  We will need to make a much stronger start this week against Wasps.”

This is the first of 3 tough games in 9 days for the Blues Academy with games scheduled against the Royal Navy U23 XV at home on Wednesday 4th November (KO 7.30 pm) and away on Saturday 7th November against the RAF U23 XV (KO 2.00 pm).
