The Blues Academy play Wasps under floodlights at Maidenhead this Friday. Bedford make eight changes (two of them positional) to the starting line-up that beat Ealing in their last outing.

In the pack Ben Wilkinson moves from prop to hooker, with Hayden King restored to tight head; Josh Fadden returns at 2nd row, with Harry Agnew at flanker.  In the back line Chris Easton moves from fly half to scrum half, with Roddy Giles returning at fly half; Aaron Martin returns from injury in the centre, with Jack Stapley starting on the wing.

The game is at Maidenhead Rugby Club, Braywick Park, Braywick Road, Maidenhead SL6 1BN, and kicks off at 7.30 pm.

Bedford Academy Director, Denis Ormesher, said “We performed well against Ealing a few weeks ago but Wasps will offer a tougher challenge.  Although it was windy at Ealing the synthetic playing surface was superb.  The Maidenhead ground has a similar synthetic surface, and although the weather forecast is for strong winds the pitch will be ideal for a fast game of rugby.  We beat Wasps by the narrowest of margins (13pts – 12) when we played them at Goldington Road in October, and they will be out to avenge that result on their home ground.  Wasps have hit form recently and have beaten Harlequins Academy (29pts – 0) and Bristol Academy (38pts – 9) in the last few weeks.”

Bedford:  Josh Waller, Ben Wilkinson, Hayden King, Josh Fadden, Sam Copeland, Oli Robinson, Harry Agnew, Zach Scott-Gray; Chris Easton (capt), Roddy Giles; Luke Hibberd, Cameron Gregory-Ring, Aaron Martin, Jack Stapley; George Silk:  Replacements: Owen Griffiths, Liam Appleton, Alex Burman, Callum Strachan,  Steffan Osman-Wiggin, Dylan Leney,  Ben Meaden, Scott Lyle, Ryan Hutler.
