ACADEMY AWAY TO LONDON SCOTTISH

The Blues Academy play their final 15-a-side game of the season when they travel to Richmond to play London Scottish Academy.  The game is at The Athletic Ground, Kew Foot Road, Richmond, TW9 2SS and Kick Off is 2.00 pm.

With players returning from injury the Blues make seven changes to their starting lineup and give debuts to four new players on the bench.

In the pack 2nd row Joe Brock and flanker Nick Pritchard return after injury.  Jacob Moody moves from flanker to 2nd row.  In the back line scrum half Olly Venni, centre Cameron Gregory-Ring and full back Ben Meaden all return after concussion, and Will Foster starts on the wing.  On the bench Bedford give debuts to ex-Leicester Tigers Academy hooker Aubery Grimes (Eastern Counties and London & South East), flankers ex-Wasps Academy Rahat Choudray (Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe) and Tim Herbert (Ampthill) and winger Alfie Burton (Eastern Counties).  Fly half Chris Easton captains the side.

Bedford Academy Director, Denis Ormesher, said … “We had a tough game at home against London Scottish at the beginning of the season, and scraped home narrowly.  We expect them to be a real challenge on their home patch.  Scottish have gone from strength to strength over the last couple of seasons. Their 55pts – 15 win over Ealing two weeks ago is a sign of this.”

“The squad has trained well since our last game against Leicester Tigers, and are looking forward to finishing the 15-a-side season with a good performance.”

Bedford:  Josh Waller, Ben Wilkinson,  Hayden King, Joe Brock, Jacob Moody, Ollie Robinson, Nick Pritchard, Zach Scott-Grey; Olly Venni, Chris Easton (capt); Luke Hibberd , Cameron Gregory-Ring, Cameron Clarke, Ben Meaden.  Replacements: Aubrey Grimes, Liam Appleton, Charley Robinson, Tim Herbert, Rahat Choudhury, Ryan Hutler; Michael Philips, Alfie Burton, Max Titchener:
